Everyday items that are becoming helplessly obsolete

Every decade there is always something new that makes the last decade seem older then it actually is, an example would be how different mobiles used to be in the 80's than they are today or another example would be how computers have bettered themselves since, I dunno say 1983, I've just taken things that I've grown used to, things everybody uses now that are becoming well outdated.

Discs

Your probably asking what I'm talking about here, CD's DVD's whatever, I'm talking about all disk media, think about it, DVD sales are actually beginning to drop and people are downloading things more than ever before, sure you're probably thinking Blu Ray but to be honest I can see the better picture quality but I wouldn't call it perfect or the next big step forward that I'd have to spend hundreds again replacing my favorite movies on DVD with Blu Ray.

The same with games, chances are if you're a gamer you have a PS3 and about six games in your possession and weren't at all affected by the financial crisis, but the whole game on a disc thing is getting old, sure hell all good games can be bought off Steam.

Cash

Okay this is a stretch I'll admit that right now but there has been a lot of speculation after 9/11 about terrorism, so what I'm basically talking about is a small microchip that can be implanted under the skin and has pretty much everything about you, it can identify you and stuff like that but more importantly it pretty much has digital credit, so instead of being paid cash you're pretty much paid by money (credit) being beamed into your arm, kind of like credit on your mobile phone only that its on an implantable chip in your arm and is what you use instead of stuff to buy stuff and that's what you get paid with, hell its a stretch but I could see how it could work!
